We need to peel off one Democrat to kill this thing.

For those of you glued to your laptops when the abortion known as PelosiCare was passed a couple of weeks ago, this Saturday’s fight in the Senate will consist of 10 hours of debate, which were won by Republicans in return for their not having the entire bill read on the floor.

According to Roll Call (subscription required, but the snippet is there), Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) will join the other 39 Republicans in the filibuster.

The first vote is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., so, if my math is correct, the debate begins at 10:00 a.m. In any event, the debate will be all day, and this is crunch time.

Plain and simple: If you value your freedom, now is the time to melt the phone lines in your Senators’ offices.

As Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) notes at RedState, a vote by Democrats to proceed to a debate is a vote on the substance of the bill. Once the Democrats get the first 60 votes, they only need a majority to pass the bill itself. They will then allow vulnerable members of their caucus to vote against the final bill. It is a John Kerry “I voted for the bill before I voted against it” line of BS.

But don’t be fooled by senators that will say they oppose a government takeover but just wanted to allow debate on health care, they are not being honest.

The simple fact is this: Any senator that votes to proceed to the Reid-Obama bill is voting for a government takeover of health care.

Why? Because, President Obama and Harry Reid cannot pass a government takeover without clearing 60 vote procedural hurdles in the Senate — but they also know that vulnerable Democrats likely cannot win reelection if they vote for this unpopular bill. So they want all Democrats to stick together on the vote to proceed, then some Democrats will vote against final passage of the bill and claim they tried to stop it.

Senators who say they just want to allow for debate are trying to deceive their voters while giving President Obama the crucial votes he needs to pass a government takeover of health care.

Saturday is the day. We only need one Democrat. Ride to the sound of the guns.

With independent author printing technology, otherwise known as POD, it is highly likely that you can write and distribute a winning book rapidly. It goes without saying that the more books you publish the greater your impact and probability of producing a bestseller will be. This article is designed to communicate my best 3 methods for publishing your manuscript.

1. Research on demand printing technologies that best suit your needs. That is, do you want your book distributed only on Amazon or do you require that your book be available through bookstores. Research the on demand printing technology companies that provide what you seek.

2. All books should be appropriately edited. The process can take months. To shorten this period my advice is to get 6 of your most objective relatives to peruse and edit your manuscript. Not only is this tactic free but you can get the brain power of that many more folks all working on your manuscript. To convince my helpers to work quickly I offer a place on the “acknowledgment” page. It makes for a nice carrot.

3. Do not endeavor to simultaneously write and edit. These are two totally different skills and they require different mental processes. Trying to do both at the same time will impede the quantity of your writing. Instead divide the jobs. First, WRITE then when your first draft is completed then go back to editing. Your manuscript will be that much cleaner and it will be finished lickety-split which of course is your primary goal.
Publishing a book quickly can be tricky if you don’t know the secret.

Get the secret for writing and publishing winning books fast with my free video at http://www.realfastbook.com/

It is now the eleventh hour in the struggle to stop the Democrat drive to socialize medicine. There are two versions of Obamacare, a house bill and a senate bill, both about 2,000 pages. In my opinion, there is no reason to write a 2,000-page bill unless you want to hide a lot of objectionable provisions. This multiple-headed, monstrous undertaking is not obviously about gun control, but it has anti-Second Amendment implications. First the broader problems with Obamacare!

A restaurateur on the Hugh Hewitt show said that mandating health insurance for food service employees would drive many restaurants out of business and drive up the cost of eating at those restaurants that were able to survive. Another food service manager said that, in the event Obamacare passes, he was considering laying off his wait staff and having customers order at computer terminals at each table.

08-03-09 Liberal Columnist Paul Krugman appeared in a video clip shown on Bill O’Reilly’s Fox TV Show. Krugman, sitting on a discussion panel, asked “How many Canadians in the audience?” Several hands went up. “How many of you Canadians believe that you have a terrible health care system?” About the same number of hands went up. Krugman responded with a strained grin, “Well, now! I shouldn’t have done that, should I?”

In the United States Political Arena, the Democrats have effectively shut the Republicans out of the health care debate. One result of this one-party approach is that there appears to be no effective tort reform in either bill. Insurance companies, until they are driven out of business by the “public option,” will still not be able to offer coverage across state lines. There appear to be no effective provisions to increase the number of doctors and other medical staff to handle the increased patient load. One survey of doctors reported that as many as 45% of them would consider retiring, if Obamacare were passed.

Stories from the occupied territories:

A young Canadian man was on a two-year waiting list for an operation. Unfortunately, the doctors only gave him 18 months to live. He came to the US for his operation. He survived.

A Young Canadian woman needed a hospital that could handle multiple births. There were no openings in Canada. She had her babies in the US.

A Canadian woman reported that her dog has better health care than she does. Her dog can get same day treatment in an unregulated veterinary clinic, while she must wait for three weeks to get an appointment with a government-regulated physician.

A doctor called Hugh Hewitt from Texas on 08-02-09 and reported that he overheard the payoff on a gruesome bet between residents (apprentice doctors), while he was working in England. One of their patients had been on a waiting list for two years for an operation to correct a life-threatening aneurysm in the wall of his aorta. One of the budding doctors had wagered that the man would die, before he got the operation. The other one bet that the man would get the operation and survive. Unfortunately for the patient, the death-betting resident physician won the wager.

The same caller reported that, following rounds one day, the doctor and the residents were enjoying tea. A nurse came in and told the doctor that a patient was having severe chest pains. The doctor looked up and said, “Tell the patient that we are at tea, and that when we are finished, we will come and have a look at him.”

A survey of British Subjects revealed that many of them were dissatisfied with their health care, but that they didn’t complain, because they felt that no one in government would listen to their pleas.

A story out of Great Britain reported that only 40% of cancer patients in that country are able to see an oncologist (cancer specialist).

The main reasons to oppose Obamacare-probable results:

The destruction of Medicare Advantage to “save tax dollars” will mean that millions of seniors will be driven to buy more expensive Medicare supplemental coverage from the anti-gun American Association of Retired Persons, otherwise known as AARP. (AARP is now on board as a supporter of Obamacare.)

Obamacare will be terribly expensive in terms of tax dollars and probably require raising taxes on all Americans.

It will drive up the costs of all goods and services.

It will destroy an American Health Insurance Industry unable to compete with a government-subsidized “public option.”

It will result in health care rationing, especially for the elderly, who will not be ” good investments” as candidates for heart surgery, knee and hip replacements, or expensive medication. Not only will overweight people, elderly people and others who are not considered “worthy” not be able to get government health care, they will not be able to get government approval for certain procedures or drugs anywhere in the country.

Gun Owners of America has published information indicating that government health care may result in de facto registration of gun owners. The intrusive health care bureaucracy may view gun owners as a “high risk” group, comparable to smokers or obese persons. Will criminal penalties for failure to buy insurance create more “prohibited persons” who are forever banned from legal gun ownership?

Obamacare will vastly increase the national debt and may very well wreck the economy.

If Obamacare passes, Congress will keep its own “special” heath insurance. Many government bureaucrats will have special plans. “Common” citizens will be locked into a health plan that has had marginal results at best in most of the rest of the world.

The end result of Obamacare will likely be a system where the rich, including wealthy Democrats, go to other countries for treatment for serious conditions, knee and hip replacements, and expensive medication. Substantial numbers of US doctors will leave to practice in these countries, where they will be able to make much more money than they can under a socialized system in the US. Elderly Americans will die on waiting lists, or along with overweight citizens, be unable to get treatment anywhere. Illegal aliens and people on welfare will continue to receive care at low or no cost, unless of course, they are elderly or obese.

If the US socializes health care, where will seriously ill British and Canadians go for treatment? (The rich ones will probably join the rich Americans in clinics in South America and the Caribbean.) The rest will suffer on their own waiting lists like the silly American “common citizens” who voted for “Hope and Change.”

According to a report from Ohio today, a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has asked the ACORN-tainted Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, to investigation ACORN’s voter registration work in the state.

“U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan has formally asked Ohio’s secretary of state to look into allegations that ACORN had at least a preliminary plan to back Democrat candidates in key Ohio congressional races in 2008.”

The political plan was described in an October article as “having been scaled back,” and of course, ACORN denied any partisan activity.

“But to some, ACORN’s early 13-page plan for the 2008 election reinforces what critics always assumed: The group’s goal was never nonpartisan. The political plan and other ACORN documents show that the group was interested not just in helping presidential candidate Barack Obama, whom it urged its members to support, according to post-election Federal Election Commission reports. ACORN also was interested in Congress and the Ohio Statehouse.

“There’s no question that ACORN strategized to figure out how its election efforts could maximize the benefit for selected Democratic candidates in the most competitive races,” U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa of California told The Plain Dealer. “

An illuminating fact not mentioned in either article is that ACORN prepared political plans for several key battleground states in 2006 and again during the 2007-08 election cycle. As evidenced by the draft plans developed in the Spring of 2006 by the Strategic Writing and Research Department (SWORD) of ACORN Political Operations, these plans were aimed at electing “progressives” and in some cases broke down the Congressional districts by race for maximum targeting. SWORD, which was staffed by Project Vote staff, including myself, worked with ACORN head organizers in FL, MD, MI, MN, OH, PA, and RI to create local documents for the ACORN field staff to implement and present to funders and/or various partner organizations.

A copy of the Maryland and Colorado draft plans from 2006 are available online. Key parts of the plans are the contact and Congressional district sections at the end. For example, in the Maryland plan, it calls for mailings and face to face contact. A screen shot of the type of mailing Marylanders received is shown below.

ACORN used Project Vote staff and computers to create the PowerPoint “Campaign for a New Congress.” This PowerPoint was aimed at swaying the Congressional election in Maryland from Albert Wynn to ACORN ally Donna Edwards. Using the final political plan, ACORN canvassed voters and mailed pieces through its affiliate Communities Voting Together.

Communities Voting Together has the same address as the Project Vote office in DC and its address on the screen shot above is the same Elysian Fields address where hundreds of other ACORN entities “reside.

As a 527 group, Communities Voting Together paid over 150,000 to Citizen’s Services Inc, and contributed to Wade Rathke’s Chief Organizer Fund. Jeff Robinson is listed as the contact for Communities Voting Together and some may remembered Robinson from the 2008 elections (emphasis mine):

“In fact, the Obama campaign paid an ACORN-run organization more than $800,000. In Federal Election Commission required filings, the Obama campaign reported that this money was paid for polling, advance work and event staging. After watchdog scrutiny called this claim into question, the Obama campaign revised its filing and acknowledged that CSI was paid for “get-out-the-vote” projects.

CSI Executive Vice President Jeff Robinson last August told Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporter David M. Brown that CSI is a ’separate organization entirely’ from ACORN. But as Brown reported, CSI has the same office address as ACORN’s national headquarters, ACORN itself described CSI in 2006 as its ‘campaign services entity.’ Coincidentally, the widely identified “national deputy political director for campaigns and elections” for ACORN is…Jeff Robinson.”

ACORN’s shell corporations make it easy for a political plan to become a partisan voter registration drive facilitated by thin veiled “partnerships.” The filing reports of Communities Voting Together raise a number of questions, including whether the misspelling of the name on the filing was intentional. The payments to various ACORN entities should give any astute lawmaker pause.

ACORN has been able to claim that it never worked in some recent elections including NY-23, but as this screen shoot illustrates, Communities Voting together was mailing and passing out door knockers in 2006 for Corzine in New Jersey (without a mention of ACORN).

Will ACORN backed officials like Jennifer Brunner (who has her eye on a Senate seat) and officials in Maryland and Colorado take notices of these obvious attempts to elect Democrats, or will they continue to turn a blind eye to ACORN in order to save themselves?

By William Kevin Stoos Friday, November 20, 2009

If anyone ever needed proof of how much the Left fears Sarah Palin, or how desperately MSNBC seeks to generate some news, they need only watch the pathetic attack dog interview conducted by self styled Obama Chick Nora O’Donnell of MSNBC this week. O’Donnell, stalking a line of Palin supporters waiting to get their books signed, like a shark circling its prey, pounced upon a teenage Palin supporter who wore a funny tee shirt lampooning the TARP bailout. It seems that this female Keith Doberman Wannabe just could not wait to engage this unsuspecting young girl in a debate as to whether Sarah was, or was not, in favor of the government bailout.

Of course, this ambush interview had nothing to do with reportage and nothing to do with the merits of Palin’s position on this issue at all. Nope, it was simply one more hit piece by one more MSNBC hit person designed to embarrass this young girl, impugn Sarah and her supporters, and prove once again, how stupid everyone to the right of Keith Doberman, Chris (Tingle Down My Leg When Obama Speaks) Mathews and Nora (Obama Chick) O’Donnell really is.

But, what can we expect from a “news” organization whose sole function in life was to attack the Evil One—George Bush—every evening during the Presidential campaign, ensure that their man Barack was elected, and thereafter, lead the cheers for the Obama Administration. MSNBC (Most Sycophants Nuzzling Barack Constantly) has, like every one of the national news organizations (ABC—All Barack Channel); CBS (Covering Barack Seriously), long since lost any semblance of credibility and is nothing more than a shill for Barack Obama.

Yet, what is it with this constant attack on Sarah Palin? Why are the Left and its Obama- fawning media outlets so desperate to attack Sarah Palin that they stoop to attack little girls in bookstores? It was not enough to trash Sarah and her family during the campaign, in the most vicious conspiracy to impugn a public figure ever undertaken by the mass media; it was not enough for David (Male Chauvinist Pig of the Year) Letterman to make jokes about Sarah’s daughter being raped at a baseball game. Now they resort to stalking lines of Palin fans and embarrassing themselves by asking stupid questions and trying to outsmart teenagers.

The answer is clear: while the Left pretends to be in favor of strong willed, independent, successful women, it only favors them if they are doctrinaire liberals. If women, like Sarah Palin, dare to espouse conservative values, are in favor of traditional marriage, do not believe in killing babies, and dare to think that people can succeed on their own without reliance on Uncle Sugar, then these women—like Sarah—become the enemy. I do not even think the Left realizes its own hypocrisy.

While liberal Democrats and their captive media pretend to champion women’s rights and equality of the sexes, and pretend to be so tolerant of all races, religions, and sexual orientations, they trash a good person like Sarah Palin and now attack little girls who stand in line to get a book signed by her. Of course, this is nothing new. After Obama dissed Hillary—who had far more votes during the Democratic primaries than the middle-aged white man who was picked as the Vice Presidential candidate—Obama sent his female minions who, unfazed by his shunning of Hillary, were nevertheless anxious to do his bidding. They spread across the land to criticize and slander Palin, trash her family, and convince the public that Democrats do not really hate strong willed successful women; rather, they just hate strong-willed successful women who are not liberals.

The only thing stranger than the dissing of Hillary was that Hillary—once dissed—was nevertheless anxious to do Obama’s bidding. She fanned out across the country along with a group of Obama Stepford Sisters, including Janet Napolitano, Kathleen Sebelius and others for the sole purpose of trying to stem the tide of Sarah Mania, which was then sweeping across the land. The only thing more curious than a party that prefers to field an all-male team, is that subservient women of that same party were most willing to trash another woman just because Obama commanded them. Between Hillary, her Stepford Sisters, and the lap dog press, which gets a collective Chris Mathews tingle down their leg whenever they hear Obama speak, the Left pulled out all stops to demean, undermine, and defeat the new girl on the block in 2008. And, as the recent O’Donnell interview with the little girl illustrated, the Left is at it again. It seems that Sarah is just too dangerous and they must continue to attack her lest, some day, God forbid, she may run against The Great Obama.

Sarah Palin’s only fault is that she is clean cut, intelligent, impressive, kind-hearted, endearing, compassionate, successful, religious, family oriented and (God forbid), unabashedly in love with her husband and children. And, she is one tough lady to boot. They just cannot stand this. It strikes fear into them. When Gloria Steinem—who once championed the ideal of the successful, intelligent, independent woman who could do whatever she desired to do—came out during the last election to trash a woman who typifies everything Steinem used to laud, then you know the Left was desperate. It still is. The Left is afraid—pure and simple. Nothing else explains their irrational behavior, their obsession with all things Sarah, and their continued campaign of slander, libel, and recent attacks on her supporters. The Left is, indeed, afraid of girls. They fear that, next time, this girl just might kick their butts.

Here is Capt. Karl’s letter to Wisconsin Public Service:

Dear Wisconsin Public Service:

Explanation of Wisconsin Taxpayers Civil Rejection 28 Act.

Enclosed along with a recent bill we received from your electric service company, was a notice stating;

Beginning September 28, 2009, Wisconsin Public Service customers in the state of Wisconsin will begin seeing a “Wisconsin 2009 Act 28” fee on their monthly electric bill.

This charge is a result of a provision included in the Wisconsin Legislative budget bill, which requires that all Wisconsin electric utilities collect a fee from customers to help fund District Attorney salaries and benefits across the state. The charge will appear on customers’ bills through June 30, 2011, unless additional action is taken by the legislature.

For WPS, this means that our residential customers will pay about $3.24 annually, while the charge for commercial customers will be close to $10 annually. The fee is to be charged per electric meter or service, so customers with multiple accounts could see higher charges.

If you have any questions, or would like more information about Act 28, please contact the Department of Administration at 866-432-8947 or visit their Web site at www.homeenergyplus.wi.gov.

           ****************************************************************

Electricity has become an essential part of living in America. I find it heinously appalling that the State of Wisconsin would attach ‘General State of Wisconsin Operational Taxes’ to a utility bill of such life supporting necessity. What irks me the most about this is the obvious Wisconsin tax incrementalism that is certainly to follow over the course of the next few months and years on our utility bills, for utilities necessary and essential for life itself, now that the tyrannical spendthrift legislators have their despotic “camel’s nose” under the tent. Doesn’t electricity cost enough already?

By what right does the oppressive State of Wisconsin Legislators have to force Wisconsin businesses, like Wisconsin Public Service, to do their dirty work for them?

Please be advised, therefore, that I, as a customer of Wisconsin Public Service and a Wisconsin Taxpayer, hereby rejects payment of the Wisconsin Act 28 Fee, which has nothing to do with your electrical service, and that this fee will be subtracted from all future bills with the balance for the electrical service to be paid in full as per the due date provided.

Please be further advised that a copy of this e-mail will be going out to over FIFTY Freedom and Liberty organizations across the State of Wisconsin one being the humongous Americans For Prosperity. Additionally I will be submitting this letter to many Wisconsin bloggers for posting on the Internet for Wisconsin Taxpayers and Wisconsin Public Service customers to view.

This constant insult to our intelligence and our family finances, due to legislators not cutting the State budget like our families have to do continuously, is coming to an end. I feel that it is awful for the Wisconsin Government to put your company in the middle between us and them in the attempt to mask their tax increases on us.

For seven years I helped run a low-cost spay/neuter program; it was a volunteer effort on my part. I was a passionate advocate for lowering the euthanasia rate at our county shelter “If you can prevent unwanted cats/dogs from being born, then we don’t have to kill them when they end up in the shelter.” I worked a full time job during these years also, became the Queen of Multitasking as I toggled between computers, organized volunteers, created awareness events, drove countless miles to speak to groups, cleaned crates, transported pets to the vet, became expert enough on statistics to speak before city/county council, woke up early several mornings a week to staff the front desk at the clinic. Every person I met was a potential volunteer, perhaps a donor. I subscribed to the newspaper just so I could skim it each morning, looking for opportunities to promote spay/neuter, calling a health fair that was advertised to see if I could put up a table also.

Now here in Upstate South Carolina, this wasn’t always a popular passion to advocate for. There were obstacles to navigate: true economic hardships, not understanding health benefits to pets of spay/neuter, casual attitudes to “getting rid of” unwanted litters, community ignorance of devastating statistics of the kill rate at our shelter and how affordable/accessible spay/neuter could lower those numbers, being seen as “intrusive” by the vet community. We developed common sense talking points and plans to overcome many obstacles. We did succeed in lowering our euthanasia rates, becoming a well respected community organization, and even coaxing a $10,000 grant out of our local county council. But always running through my mind were the frustrating questions “WHY is this so hard? WHY can’t people see spay/neuter as the solution? WHY don’t they care enough to help? HOW can they not do something?” It boggled my mind that more people weren’t supporting us, and it made me MAD that people actually opposed our efforts, subtly and overtly at times. It was MADNESS!

I say that to say this. I was unaware all the recent years of what was happening in my country with the government growth, the out of control spending, the veering away from Constitutional principles of both parties. I did nothing to protest. I abdicated my responsibility to hold my representatives accountable. I went along with it. If it didn’t significantly impact my life … well … whatever. Someone else was probably watching them. Doing the tasks/oversight/vetting that all citizens should have, including me. It was RIGHT THERE for me to see, I just didn’t bother. I was busy doing other important things. And in the same way that I internally ranted about the people who DIDN’T DO ANYTHING about my passion of affordable/accessible spay/neuter, I owe an apology to those patriots who have been warning for years about spending, corruption, government control of our lives, unwillingness of our representatives to listen to their constituents. But I’m paying attention now, and you have my word that I will work as passionately for this movement as I did those seven years.

Lavelle Stewart, of ACORN in South Central Los Angeles, tells us she thinks we have to hook up with “someone who’s on that international sex business level,” that “14 and 15 year olds been traveling overseas for years,” that she can do independent research for us, and that she has had meetings with Porn magnate Larry Flynt. As for laundering the sex money into my faux political campaign, Lavelle says, “there are ways, people do it all the time. Yeah there are ways, especially out here in California.”

KA-POW! Upping the ante –Andrew Breitbart issues an ultimatum to Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder.

Get ‘em Andrew!

Breitbart to AG Holder: Investigate ACORN or We’ll Release More Tapes Just Before 2010 Election - Big Government

Breitbart: There’s a lot of hypocrisy and the dust has settled for ACORN and at the end of the day they’ve recognized that Eric Holder, the Attorney General, has not initiated an investigation into ACORN after we now have seven tapes. There were five initially that came out, ACORN was defunded by the Senate, was defunded by the House, lost it’s link to the Census; while all that damage occurred, Congress didn’t come in to investigate them, obviously not the Attorney General’s office, and they’ve now realized let’s get back into business because they realized that the dust settled and they were not being investigated, it was Hannah, James, and me who were being investigated, that’s why we’ve been forced to offer this latest tape.

Hannity: Are you saying, Andrew, that there are more tapes?

Breitbart: Oh my goodness there are! Not only are there more tapes, it’s not just ACORN. And this message is to Attorney General Holder: I want you to know that we have more tapes, it’s not just ACORN, and we’re going to hold out until the next election cycle, or else if you want to do a clean investigation, we will give you the rest of what we have, we will comply with you, we will give you the documentation we have from countless ACORN whistleblowers who want to come forward but are fearful of this organization and the retribution that they fear that this is a dangerous organization. So if you get into an investigation, we will give you the tapes; if you don’t give us the tapes, we will revisit these tapes come election time.

Hannity: This is a blockbuster, what you’re saying here. You guys have more tapes, you’ll release them before the election, that could have a big impact on the election, obviously…

How sweet it is!

Update:

LA Times – Top of the Ticket

Los Angeles ACORN statement, as prepared by the organization:

1. The tapes are clearly doctored and highly edited and it is our hope this will be responsibly reported on should this become a news story.

2. The conversation took place outside of the ACORN office. The couple was taken outside of the office into the building-hallway (a common space) because the subject matter they were attempting to discuss was not appropriate and the employee made it clear that ACORN does not help with such things.

3. The couple was brought to a neighboring agency that deals specifically with international abuse.

4. The couple featured in the video did NOT portray themselves as a “prostitute” and a “pimp.”

5. The couple described themselves as “a former prostitute escaping her pimp boyfriend in Miami” and the male as her “concerned friend, a student at USC” who had political aspirations. The male was NOT dressed in “pimp” attire but instead in a white shirt and pants. This contradicts what the “videographers” have stated in the press.

6. The employee made repeated attempts to move the couple out of the office and building by suggesting a number of referrals of agencies or types of agencies to talk to.

7. It is hard to respond to this tape. It is so heavily edited that it may be constructed to conceal the reality of the interaction.

Statement:
“ACORN is moving on; an independent investigation is underway, ACORN’s services have been under review and locally we continue to fight to end the foreclosure crisis and be a voice for the underserved. It’s clear that these videographers can’t move on and have resorted to releasing highly edited tapes in an attempt to keep themselves in the press.” — Lyn Mottley, ACORN leader, South LA

This is going to be short and sweet today. The four Senators names you see above are the ‘moderates’ that Dingy Harry Reid has to have to pass the Senate version of the health care monstrosity, waiting out there to enslave you and ALL your antecedents, all 2074 pages of it.

Republican Senators intend to force a reading of every word of it in prime time. It’s all according to Senate rules so it doesn’t look like the DeMarxists can stop it. It will take between 34 and 54 hours to accomplish, by which time there will undoubtedly be some squirming going on while various Senators reach for their hemorrhoid pads. Whatever Americans that are out there who are not tar-and-feathers angry about this fraud, WILL BE by the end of this reading. Either that or they are brain dead. In point of fact, Senate rules call for THREE readings of each new piece of legislation. Look for Republican Senators to insist on it.

This legislation is NOT health reform, it is a criminal enterprise reinforced by the full force of the the US Government. It will lower the living standard of every American and will condemn many to an impossible state of poverty. It will impoverish our children and their children. It will not cost any 849 billion dollars either. According to the Heritage Foundation the ACTUAL cost will be 2.44 TRILLION dollars. Let’s see, between Dingy Harry and the Heritage Foundation…I’ll take the Foundation.

The DeMarxists don’t want you to know about that. In fact, there’s very little in that legislation that they DO want you to know about.
This is likely to come up for a vote within the next week. We can influence this thing and possibly stop it by contacting your own Senator and the four Senators shown above. Call and email them and let them know that we will hold them responsible for their vote. Their own constituents are against this bill but there is HUGE pressure on them to vote for it.

Dingy Harry wrote a couple of pages in there especially to entrap Mary Landrieu…about 100 million in pork if I recall correctly. The White House, Rahm Emanuel and the Democrat leadership are in full court press to get these Senators to ignore principle and betray their constituents and YOU, the American people.

So much for short and sweet. Call and email the Senators listed below and let them know we stand WITH them as long as THEY stand on principle. Let them know also that we WILL work to hound them from office if they vote for this travesty.

Senator Evan Bayh, Indiana, 202-224-5623
Senator Mary Landrieu, Louisiana, 202-224-5824
Senator Bill Nelson, Florida, 202-224-5274
Senator Blanche Lincoln, Arkansas, 202-224-4843

Stand up for America! Encourage them to be strong, to fight for the rights of all Americans and vote NO on this monstrosity.

The recent Bushnell Golf Rangefinder commercial with the slow motion shot of Sergio Garcia hitting a tee shot over water while a Bushnell Rangefinder reticle is targeting the flag, sand trap, and the wooden water embankment in front of the hole is great. It’s a great commercial because it’s about time Bushnell started getting high profile golfers to promote golf equipment that actually help golfers lower their scores. While Titleist, TaylorMade, and the other golf club manufacturers focus on promoting the latest drivers, putters, and gimmicky clubs; rarely does a new club or new putter actually help an average golfer lower his or her score like a rangefinder can. This article lists 3 great reasons why the average golfer (handi-cap of 8 or higher) should always have a good rangefinder in the bag.
ugg fluff flip flop

Good rangefinders are relatively inexpensive. I say relatively inexpensive because $200 to $400 may seem like a lot of money to spend on another golf gadget. Consider this: most golfers change drivers every three years, and buy new sets of irons every seven years. A $299 Bushnell Pinseeker Rangefinder should hold up for ten years. And for ten years, you get the benefit of accurate distance measurements to flags and other objects on golf courses that will help you play golf holes more intelligently. New drivers can run you anywhere from $200 to $500, while a new set of irons cost anywhere from $400 to $1500. If you do the math, these costs add up and make rangefinders a relatively inexpensive investment over the course of a ten year span. And remember that without a good golf swing, golfing intuition, and hand-eye coordination, those expensive hi-tech clubs won’t help you any more than a Spaulding starter set that goes for $199.
ugg tasmina braid sandals

Golf Rangefinders can absolutely lower your score. Average golfers don’t have caddies. USGA rules also do not allow Rangefinders and other electronic measurement devices to be utilized during official tournament play. Sergio’s caddy, however, is allowed to walk the course each morning and pace off distances from the tees to anywhere he wants to and then write them all down. Caddies even use rangefinders to record these distances to save time while they are preparing for an event. By the time a PGA tour event starts, every golfer’s caddy has all distance measurements needed so that both he and the golfer are extremely prepared. In reality, Sergio Garcia wouldn’t even need a rangefinder if they were allowed. The rest of the golfing world (us) barely has time to squeeze in a round or two each week, and if we do-the only preparation we may have time for is studying the scorecard that includes tee yardages and distance measurements to holes, hazards, and dog legs. When we begin play, we rely on yardage markers. ugg tasmina sandalsWhen you’re in between markers, however, a rangefinder will give you the exact yardage measurement so that you are not guessing between an 8 iron and 9 iron. It is these precise moments in a golf round where golf rangefinders can make the difference between coming up short and blasting it over the green. These area also the moments that that pars become bogeys, bogeys become double bogeys, etc.

Golf Rangefinders ARE allowed. USGA Rule 14-3 stipulates that under local rules, scores can be posted for rounds played while using a device that measures only distance; but NOT wind speed or ground slope. Take advantage of the rules. Golfing is both beautiful and unique in that imposes character on players by forcing them to be honest by adding penalty strokes and to not improve bad lies, etc. In this case, USGA rules recognize the difficulty that average golfers may have in measuring distances by allowing such instruments to assist them during a round. If the USGA says you are allowed to use golf rangefinders, you should use them. Putting it another way, if your ball ends up in casual water, would you NOT move it to drier ground? Of course not, because everyone knows that USGA rules allow you a free drop to dry ground provided your ball is no closer to hole. Knowing the rules and using them to your advantage is an integral part of golf. Nike Shox Torch

Finally, good golf rangefinders really do work. They accurately range flags, trees, and other targets from up to 1,000 yards away; and to within +/- 1 yard of your targeted objects. They are also easy to use and are small enough to be kept in your pocket. I recommend trying the Bushnell Golf Medalist or the Bushnell Tour V2. Leupold’s Gx-1 and Gx-2 models have also received very good reviews by golfers. For a step up in price and performance, the Bushnell 1500 Pinseeker with up and down slope measurement is a great instrument. And if you and your friends can live with the USGA rule infraction, I recommend it; especially for courses being played for the first time.
Nike Shox R5 PU Big Hook

Here are some things you can do to avoid injuries when you’re pitching:

1. Doing warm-ups – many players skip warm-ups altogether thinking that warm-ups don’t really contribute anything to their game. What they don’t know is that: 1) not doing warm-ups severely affects their performance 2) doing warm-ups prevents a lot of sports-related injuries.

Avoiding warm-ups exposes you to different types of injuries, ranging from pulled muscles to sprain. So to keep you from getting sidelined, doing warm-ups is your first line of defense.
Nike Shox R5 Mesh

2. Practicing correct pitching mechanics – you can also be injured because of poor pitching mechanics. The more often you pitch with the incorrect form, the more you run the risk of injuring yourself. If you pitch correctly, you’ll be able to throw the ball with less effort than you would with the wrong form.

3. Get enough rest – it’s perfectly fine if you aim to continually improve your pitching so you can pitch faster and more accurately. However, you should also give your body enough time to recover in between practices and don’t try to practice too much. Getting enough rest prevents incidents of overuse injuries especially on the shoulders and the rotator cuff.
Nike Shox TZ
4. Remember to follow through – some players have the tendency to snap their release, meaning, they stop their arm’s movement immediately after the ball leaves their hand. But this can lead to injuries on the arms and shoulders. So if you notice yourself doing this, change this technique as soon as you can and let your arm naturally swing once you release the ball.
Nike Shox R5 Leather

5. Take things slowly – perfecting your pitching technique will take years to fully develop. So don’t force yourself to get the perfect pitch right away. Give yourself the time to learn the fundamentals first, nail them down until they become a part of your system, and develop on perfecting your pitch. Hurrying things up will only lead to frustration, burn out, and improper techniques that will ultimately lead to injuries.

6. Get a coach who knows his stuff – nobody expects you to perfect your pitching on your own.

To be a better pitcher, you also need the advice of a good coach. And by good, I mean somebody who really knows his stuff. He must be able to show you the proper pitching mechanics while understanding that every pitcher has his or her own pitching techniques and adjust his advice to you accordingly.

Landrie sells us out- we sell her off! Reid buys Senator Landrieu's vote on Health Care BIll. Group wants to investigate strange $25,000 donation Senator Landrieu made to the Treasury!

I am furious! I have emailed, called and attended Mary Landrieu’s townhall meetings over the internet. She isn’t willing to do it face to face- so it’s the best we can get.

She has been like a “roller coaster” ride ever since the November 8th elections. Until that point I loved her to death. She spoke up for us after Hurricane Katrina, let us feel we had at least one friend up there in D.C.

I admit to voting for her the last election. I am a conservative Independent voter, and as such had concerns about putting too many democrats into a senate that was dominated by them. Her office assured me that she was “pretty much her own person”, and was not one for “voting along party lines.” Ok, I took a chance. I trusted her. It was a gamble I felt fairly safe in making. (That’s why I don’t gamble much- I’m lousy at it.)

Then it started. The stimulus. Calls, emails, assurances. uh-huh. Sure.
Then it was one bailout after another. First this bill, then that bill. I have never been so frustrated, confused and angry in my life!

But I digress. Those are other issues; they have passed. I cannot get those votes to be a “do-over”. Concentrate on the big stuff- it’s the only way you can keep up with this administration. They hit you with one thing after another, followed by another, and another….you have to pick your issues with this president. Can’t try to keep one step ahead of him- be content to just keep up.

Ok. I called her D.C. office. They assured me she was not happy with the “current” bill. (That should have been my first clue. These are politicians, and every word is measured carefully in case they change their minds.) I asked about cloture…explained to them that to vote for “cloture” on health care- was paramount to voting for this bill. I made it oh so clear, that I did not like this tactic I had heard about..the deal to let the “blue-dogs” vote yes on cloture so they could get the votes…then have the dogs vote against the bill. That way they could say they didn’t pass it. It sounded pretty underhanded to me- but it’s getting to be a “normal” occurance with this administration.

Today, after dropping off the grandchildren at their home- I heard a broadcaster on the radio talking about the 2,000 plus bill Reid had submitted. I heard that on page 432 there was a 2 page clause written just for LOUISIANA. It seems that our own Judas (Senator Mary Landrieu) got much more than 30 pieces of silver for our souls. She gets $100 Million in Medicaid subsidies for “the state that in the last 7 years had been declared a major disaster area, because of a major natural disaster”.

That would be us. Louisiana. Or “Lousy-ana” as we have come to call it here. Harry Reid bought her vote- and she must have agreed to it, or it would not be in the bill. They are laughing at us….. Again. First it was Representative Cao who sold out in the House after getting what he wanted…now it’s Senator Landrieu. (Soon to be ex.)

Isn’t it illegal to buy votes? At the very LEAST it’s UNETHICAL on BOTH their sides!

I am feeling a little better though. After calling and emailing everyone I know to vent, I calmed down enough to check the internet for validation of this 2 page clause. ABC and some other media outlets had run the story about the bought vote….I could have screamed….should have screamed…..and would have screamed: EXCEPT I found this interesting story.

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/11/more_questions_on_landrieu_camps_donation_to_treas.php?ref=fpb

It seems my beloved Senator has a group who want to investigate her. Seems she “contributed” $25,000 plus change to the Treasury last year. I say again….she voluntarily donated $25,000 plus to the Treasury Department!

Is that “normal” to you?! Isn’t that the kind of thing we all like to do occassionally?! Run our spare change over to the Treasury as a sort of good will jesture. A “touchy-feely” do good sort of thing…. Hehehe….sure….do it all the time!

Well, the thing that made me feel better is that apparently this group wants to investigate….find out what the deal is. It appears that even the wealthiest wind bags in D.C. do not do this on a regular basis, and it’s raised some flags. (That, by itself, is saying something! Few things done in D.C. raise eyebrows anymore!)

You see, we in Louisiana were worried we could not remove her from our senate seat for 3-4 years when she will be up for re-election.

Maybe this isn’t such a bad trade off. Governor Jindhal is a Republican….does he get to appoint someone to take her place if she’s removed from office?! Do you think we could get some nice conservative politician who would listen to the people of our state? Could we find someone not indebted to SEIU, or a party, or “unknown contributors”?

Is Christmas coming early this year?
If she SELLS US OUT- we will SELL HER OFF! Yell for an investigation! Contact the organization and let them know you support their efforts!

Hurry Christmas…hurry fast!

I have listened to Jim Cooper talk about the health care plans the past several weeks. He claims to be a “Blue Dog” Democrat, based on principal and fiscal conservatism, but in the end whether it is the stimulus plan, the budget or healthcare he falls right into line and votes how Pelosi tells him to vote. Just like Saturday, November 7th Rep. Cooper released that I wrote about here where he proves that he has no foundational principals that he believes in. He is nothing but a politician that will say all the right things to the people he talks to, but does the exact opposite in the end.

On Monday, Rep. Cooper had a guest commentary in the local free newspaper that was 700 words long and said a whole bunch of nothing. The title is “The problem with the status quo” and he says some great things that has some actual facts in it with some bashing of those evil insurance companies. I especially like how he says the fault lies that Congress back in WWII did not get the opportunity to vote for any of it and did not intend it as if they are the be all, end all. Here is what he had to say about the beginnings of the flawed, but best healthcare system in the world:

Most of today’s non-system is the result of a World War II fluke. Congress never voted on it, and never intended it. Instead, it grew like kudzu from seeds that were planted by companies whose goal was not to keep people healthy, but to fill hospitals and doctors’ offices with patients. It grew faster when an IRS clerk in the 1950s decided that fringe benefits should be treated better than cash pay, skewing our entire medical industry toward unsustainable growth rates that have been crowding out other national needs. If current trends continue, it will take all of federal revenues just to treat our own bodies. There will be no money left over for such priorities as national defense or education.

He starts with some facts and then goes off into another bashing that says the only reason to fill hospitals and doctors offices with patients. Are there flaws with the current system? Yes, there are some flaws, but it is not just the private health insurance companies that are a part of it but the government insurance plans are contributers as well.

He also makes some good points about the overmedication of Tennesseans, but the idea that a government option is going to somehow solve this issue is absurd to say the least. There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING in the health care bill that he voted for on November 7th that solves these issues that he talks about in his commentary this week.

Rep. Cooper’s bait and switch vote for this bill has shown once and for all that he is nothing but a Washington Politician who will say one thing to the people who voted him to his office and then goes back to Washington to drop his “Blue Dog” label when Speaker Pelosi tells him too because they feel that his seat is comfortably Democrat. Hopefully with the work of fellow Americans in the 5th District, we can show them that they are beatable. Here is the link to the commentary from Cooper to read for yourself and see if what he says matches up with what he voted for in HR 3962.

We have to show these politicians that they need to listen to us or they will find themselves out of office in 2010 and beyond. Maybe Rep. Cooper should read the U.S. Constitution and let us know where it says that the Federal Government has the authority to fundamentally change healthcare in this country by requiring us to buy insurance from the government.

God Bless,

American Dad

A group of Kansas state legislators are proposing an amendment to the Kansas Constitution to preserve the freedom of Kansans to provide for their health care.

Sen. Mary Pilcher Cook (R-Shawnee) and Reps. Brenda Landwehr (R-Wichita) and Peggy Mast (R-Emporia) and other proponents of health care choice announced their effort to seek the amendment and their opposition to federal control of health care Tuesday.

Landwehr was first to address the audience gathered at the Wichita Independent Business Association about the proposed amendment.

“It will preserve and protect the rights of individuals to make their own health care and health insurance decisions. It doesn’t belong with the government. It doesn’t belong with our insurance companies. It belongs to the individuals. It also belongs to the physicians that we choose to do business with.”

The group planned bus stops in Wichita, Emporia, Topeka and Overland Park to make the announcement.

A news release (see bel0w) includes the text of the resolution and the proposed 16th Article to the Kansas Constitution which states in part:

“A law or rule shall not compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer or health care provider to participate in any health care system.

“A person or employer may pay directly for lawful health care services and shall not be required to pay penalties or fines for paying directly for lawful health care services.”

Dr. George Watson

Dr. George Watson a Park City, Kansas, physician and president of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, said he was there to help inoculate Kansans against the effects of “Potomac Fever.” He said the “fever” infects well-meaning representatives of both parties and causes swelling of the head to the point that they forget who elected them.

“With this swollen head the formerly sane representatives pass government mandates, many of which are unconstitutional and many are also unfunded.”

Watson said that the amendment might not protect federal representatives from infection but it will protect Kansas citizens from being effected by the epidemic in Washington.

During a brief question-and-answer period Watson said the group has their work cut out for them. “The fight is on right now between the government bureaucrats and the insurance companies and it is all about control. It isn’t about health care. It’s about control.

“We have to stand up for the patients in order to be sure that you as a patient have the freedom to choose which doctor you go to, which hospital you go to and the kind of care that you’re going to receive. And we can’t guarantee that we can change Washington but we can take a stand right here in the state for constitutional values and we can ask a question every time they pass something, ‘Is this constitutional?’ And a lot of it isn’t.”

Wichita Eagle reporter Dion Lefler asked Landwehr, “Does Kansas have the power to do this?” The quick response from the small audience included shouts of, “Yes we do,” and, “We created the federal government.”

“We’ve been given rights by the Constitution and we’re going to uphold those,” Landwehr said in response.

Much of the presentation and the group’s foundation are built on individual liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

During the 2009 legislative session Pilcher Cook and 23 other state senators co-sponsored Senate Concurrent Resolution 1615. The bill reaffirms the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, preserving to the people and the states all powers not specifically vested in the federal government. The bill, which will be high on the Senate’s agenda during the 2010 session, “serves notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates; providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed; and directing distribution.”

Several states have already passed similar legislation reaffirming states rights under the 10th Amendment and others have bills pending. In June Arizona’s legislature approved legislation to constitutionally override any law, rule or regulation that requires individuals or employers to participate in any particular health care system. The measure will be on the 2010 ballot.

One Wichita audience member said the “hands off my health care” bus should be renamed, “hands off my freedom.”

‘America’s Mayor’ apparently is going to bypass a run for the NY governorship and turn his sights toward ousting Kirsten Gillibrand (who was appointed to the seat vacated by Hillary Clinton).

Here’s the story from the WaPo:

After months of relative quiet regarding the political future of former mayor Rudy Giuliani (R), the New York newspapers have exploded this afternoon with reports that not only has he decided not to run for governor in 2010 but that he plans to enter the Senate race against Kirsten Gillibrand instead.

Maria Comella, a spokeswoman for Giuliani, released a statement insisting that no decisions — about the Senate or governors races — have been made; “When Mayor Giuliani makes a decision about serving in public office, he will inform New Yorkers on his own,” added Comella.

According to conversations with several Giuliani insiders, the Mayor has not made up his mind yet although a run for either governor or Senate is not likely. Interestingly, a Senate bid appears to be the more likely choice if Giuliani decides to get back into the political game, note the sources.

This is definitely an interesting turn of events. It looked like a Giuliani-Cuomo match-up was developing in New York (notwithstanding Cuomo having to challenge incumbent David Patterson). But from the sound of it, Rudy is opting to go for the presumably easier seat to win.

Honestly, for Republicans this is probably the preferable choice. The Senate seat is needed far more than the governor’s mansion considering what this administration and the Democrats in Congress are trying to foist upon us.

One thing is for certain – a Rudy senate run only makes 2010 that much more interesting.

There is no question that this movement has accomplished great things.

But, unfortunately, there are certain fractions of the effort that are damaging to the movement and dangerous for the potential successes ahead of us. Some of these individuals have stooped to ego driven power grabs and personal attacks against others.
