Blogivists 2.0
Welcome to the brand new Blogivists.com!
For the past year, the Sam Adams Alliance has worked hard developing and building the foundation for the Blogivists community. Many long days and nights were spent coding, customizing, and supporting what would become one of the best online blogging communities that exist for free-market eActivists.
For all of this hard work and dedication, we would like to say a special thank you to the folks at SAA.
For those who do not yet know… Blogivists.com is now a project of Strategic Activism, LLC (we’ll call it STRACT, cool?). STRACT is a new start-up focusing on advancing the free-market movement via the web. The primary goal for STRACT is to organically develop online communities, equip them with the tools needed for effective communication, and network them in order to see online political action provide offline political success.
Blogivists.com now joins two sister sites… RootsHQ.com and NewsPlatoon.com to create a perfect three way marriage that we believe will be a powerful online community going in to 2010.
Blogivists runs on Wordpress MU, the exact same software that powers Wordpress.com, and allows eActivists to set up Wordpress powered blogs. There are two main advantages of the Blogivists community…
1) Community & Individualism
Unlike many sites out there (on the right), Blogivists allows bloggers to have control of their own blog. As a blogger, you choose what goes in your sidebar, you choose your design, and you choose your own sub domain. We aren’t trying to take your content and build a big newsy homepage with it, nor do we try and brand your blog as a part of the Blogivists.com website. In fact, the only mention of anything Blogivists related is the tiny link in the footer of each blog.
Plus, Blogivists allows organic blogger communities to develop and thrive. When you log in to your own Blogivists blog, you’re logged in to everyone else’s blog as well! This means you can float around between blogs and leave comments, bookmark favorites, and most importantly, be a part of the network.
2) It’s FREE and Simple!
That’s right… a basic blog on Blogivists is absolutely free and always will be. And even better, we maintain it, provide basic support, and keep the software up to date for you. It doesn’t get much better than that!
We’ve got a lot of cool features that will be injected into the community here in the next few weeks. You’re going to love what we’re up to, and you certainly don’t want to miss out on all the fun.
So what are you waiting for? Go sign up and become a Blogivists!
